Description

Vintage Mexican Folk Art Vanity Swallow Mirror

Vintage Mexican folk art tabletop vanity featuring a vibrant red hand-painted finish and hand-carved swallow-form drawer pulls. Crafted from wood, this petite piece includes a single drawer and an adjustable tilt mirror with simply carved supports. The surface shows expressive wear with layered paint and visible brushwork, giving it strong rustic character.

The carved swallows—symbols of home and safe return—add a distinctive sculptural element, making this more than a simple functional object. Likely mid-20th century, it reflects traditional Mexican folk craftsmanship with a naïve, handmade aesthetic. Perfectly sized for use as a doll dresser, jewelry display, or decorative accent.

Condition:
Good overall with authentic, age-appropriate wear. The painted surface shows scuffs, scratches, and areas of paint loss. Minor wear to the frame is present, and the mirror has light edge wear. Drawer functions properly and mirror adjusts as intended.

Dimensions:
16 3/8 x 7 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches
