Description

Turkish Kilim Flat-Weave Runner with Stepped Diamond Medallions

Hand-woven Turkish kilim with five stepped lozenge medallions running the length of the field, each anchored by a cruciform motif in olive, rose, and pink. The palette pulls from saturated reds, oranges, black, lilac, and ochre derived from vegetal dyes, framed by a sawtooth border on a wool flat weave over cotton warps. Attributed to the third quarter of the 20th century at approximately 100 KPI.

CONDITION

Good, no stains or odors (We would never!). Sections of wear to some selvedge with raveling at both ends and areas where the warps show through. One side reads lighter than the other from sun exposure or directional wear.
