Hand Carved & Painted Folk Art Crook Walking Stick with Figural Imagery
A hand carved and hand painted crook-handle walking stick decorated along the shaft with figural imagery, including a robed bearded figure and a seated dog or fox rendered in orange, ochre, and olive tones. Carved banding and incised wrap details segment the shaft, with a scorched and striped crook handle above and a blackened ferrule tip below.
Unmarked. The pictorial style and palette are consistent with mid-20th century folk art tourist canes ⚑.
CONDITION
Good overall with the painted surface bright and the carved details crisp. Scuffing throughout commensurate with handling, with minor paint loss along the high points of the carved bands.
