Le Corbusier LC3 Grand Confort Style Sofa — Full-Grain Black Leather, Chrome
Few furniture forms carry the cultural weight of the LC3 Grand Confort. Conceived in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand, its logic was a provocation: expose the structure, float the cushions, let the steel do the talking. The result — three deep back cushions and three seat cushions suspended within a polished chrome tubular cage — remains as spatially commanding today as it was when it debuted at the Paris Autumn Salon. At 81 inches wide, this three-seat version fills a room with authority without demanding attention. It simply occupies space the way well-designed things do.
What separates this example from the market of mass-produced tributes is the leather. Full-grain pebbled black hide covers every upholstered surface — seat cushions, back cushions, arm panels, body panels — and carries the natural character and durability that bonded and top-grain alternatives cannot replicate. All cushions are removable. The chrome tubular steel frame is structurally intact and retains its polish.
CONDITION
Good. The leather presents well overall with minor scuffs consistent with use; no tears, punctures, or structural damage. Chrome steel frame is sound.
