George Barbier "Symphonie Automnale" Gazette du Bon Ton Pochoir Print
Large framed reproduction of George Barbier's "Symphonie Automnale," plate 33 from the 1922 edition of the legendary French fashion journal Gazette du Bon Ton (Vol. IV, No. 9). The image depicts a stylish Parisienne in a fur-trimmed afternoon coat and dress by the House of Worth, posed beside a white borzoi beneath a stylized rowan tree heavy with autumn berries — a hallmark composition of the Art Deco pochoir tradition that defined haute couture illustration between the wars. Signed and dated in the plate "G. Barbier 1922" at upper left, with the original French caption "SYMPHONIE AUTOMNALE — MANTEAU, ET ROBE D'APRÈS-MIDI, DE WORTH" affixed to the verso.
Presented behind glass in a black gallery frame with generous cream mat. A Frame & Art Center retailer label is affixed to the backing paper.
CONDITION
Good overall. The image is bright with strong color saturation and no visible fading, foxing, or tears. Frame shows minor handling wear and the kraft backing paper is rippled but intact.
