Virgil Thrasher "Country Side Scene" Reverse Glass Print, Lucid Lines 1978
Reverse-printed glass panel after Virgil Thrasher's "Country Side Scene," signed and dated 1977 in the plate at lower right, with the title hand-lettered at lower left. The composition layers slender black and lavender tree trunks across a snow-blanketed foreground, framing a weathered barn and a soft pink moon in the middle distance. Image is printed on the back of the glass and floated within a dark stained oak frame against a pale linen mat.
Verso bears the original "Lucid Lines Inc., 3960 Landmark, Culver City, California 90230" copyright label dated 1978, along with a hand-stamped "45." Sawtooth hanger remains intact.
CONDITION
Good overall, presenting cleanly from the front with strong color and crisp linework. Loss to the reverse painting at the upper right corner of the image is noted by the consignor. Frame shows light handling wear consistent with age.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Virgil Thrasher (American, 20th c.) is best known for atmospheric landscape and tree compositions produced as serigraphs and reverse-printed glass works through California publishers during the 1970s and 1980s. His tonal, silhouette-driven style — slender trunks, soft moons, and muted earth palettes — became a signature of late-70s decorator art. ⚑ Detailed biographical records remain limited.
MAKER / COMPANY HISTORY
Lucid Lines Inc., based at 3960 Landmark Street in Culver City, California, produced reverse-printed glass artworks during the late 1970s and early 1980s, issuing limited runs by contemporary commercial artists including Virgil Thrasher. The reverse-glass technique, applied behind a pane rather than on paper, lent their pieces a luminous depth that distinguished them from conventional serigraphs of the period.
