Vintage Teak Tall Bookcase with Lower Cabinet, Danish Modern Style
A vintage teak bookcase consistent with the modular library systems produced by Danish cabinetmakers from the 1970s through the 1980s. The case is built from teak veneer over composite core with solid teak edge banding, finished with a thin plywood back panel typical of Scandinavian flat-pack export production. Bookmatched grain runs across the lower cabinet doors, which feature the characteristic vertical sculpted teak pulls associated with the period.
The upper section presents an open display bay with three adjustable shelves and one fixed shelf, while a pair of paneled doors below conceal a single interior shelf. Proportions and construction follow the standard module of roughly 30" wide by 70" tall, designed to flank or stack within larger wall configurations. ⚑ No maker's label observed on examination.
CONDITION
Very Good overall, with a warm, even patina across the teak surfaces and crisp door action on original hinges. A utility cut-out has been made through the back panel for cord pass-through, with two smaller drilled holes nearby. Light surface scratches are present on the case sides; veneer remains tight throughout with no lifting or delamination noted.
