Space Tubes Illusion Wand Kaleidoscope Liquid Glitter Teleidoscope 1990s

A Space Tubes "Illusion" model wand kaleidoscope, the brand established in the early 1990s and credited with popularizing the slide-and-rotate liquid wand format that became a staple of museum gift shops, planetarium stores, and metaphysical retailers throughout the decade. The matte black barrel carries a brass-tone bezel and enameled "Illusion" cartouche at the eyepiece, while the sealed acrylic wand passes fully through the body, sliding vertically and rotating 360 degrees so the viewer controls the tempo of the mandala. Internal first-surface mirrors generate a tight three-point symmetry, and because the object cell is the wand itself rather than a fixed chamber, the instrument functions as a hybrid kaleidoscope-teleidoscope.

The wand is filled with a viscous clear suspension carrying holographic micro-glitter, multicolor confetti chips, and pressed foil stars in red, green, gold, and blue, which cascade slowly through the optical path to produce continuously evolving stellar imagery. Space Tubes maker mark is printed in gold foil along the lower wand.

CONDITION

Very Good with no remarkable damage. Acrylic wand and barrel are clear, the liquid-glitter chamber remains fully sealed with no visible leakage, and the rotating mechanism turns smoothly. Light handling wear to the eyepiece bezel.
