Knoll Barcelona Chair, KP-Stamped Frame, Mies van der Rohe, Original Owner
Lounge chair in the iconic Barcelona form designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, executed with the polished stainless steel cantilevered X-frame and interlaced black leather support straps that define the model. The frame bears a struck "KP" stamp at the corner — a marker consistent with early Knoll Associates / Knoll International production, generally associated with 1950s–1960s manufacture. Construction details including the flat-bar curved legs, separate back and seat frames, and leather strap suspension align with authentic Knoll execution.
From a single-owner collection of fine mid-century furniture acquired by the original owners. The seat and back cushions retain their original foam interiors and have been recovered in charcoal corduroy with button tufting — a custom re-cover over the period foam rather than wholesale replacement. The frame, straps, and foam read as original to the chair.
CONDITION
Good overall, from a pet-friendly home. Scuffs and scratches to the polished stainless frame consistent with age and use; light surface wear and minor scratching to the leather straps with one strap showing slight darkening near the upper bracket. Recovered cushions show even wear with no notable damage.
