Richard Schultz 1966 Collection Lounge Chairs for Knoll, Set of 4
Set of four Richard Schultz 1966 Collection lounge chairs produced by Knoll, featuring white-painted cast and extruded aluminum frames supporting woven vinyl-coated polyester mesh slings trimmed in dark brown vinyl with contrast white topstitching. Originally commissioned by Florence Knoll for her Florida garden, the 1966 Collection remains one of the defining American outdoor seating designs of the twentieth century — the geometry is clean, the sling tension is active, and the scale is genuinely generous. Each chair retains a Richard Schultz / Knoll maker's label affixed to the rear sling.
Sold as a matched set of four armchairs.
CONDITION
Good overall — frames are sturdy and all four chairs are fully serviceable; slings and vinyl trim are intact with no tears, splits, or stitching failures observed. Paint shows chips and surface wear throughout all four frames consistent with outdoor use; some frames or isolated areas may have been repainted at some point. Fading is present but does not detract from the set's strong usability and presence.
