German Beer Stein & Bierstiefel Group — Hofbräuhaus, Schmitt & Sohn, New Glarus

A four-piece grouping of German and German-style drinking vessels spanning stoneware steins and tall ceramic and glass Weizen/Bierstiefel forms. Includes a cobalt salt-glaze relief stein marked "Olympia Beer Tumwater" with raised scrollwork and edelweiss banding; a cream-glazed 1-liter Hofbräuhaus München mug with the Bavarian HB crest, lions, and hops, retaining its "Made in Germany" foil sticker and accompanied by an HB Certificate of Authenticity; a tall cobalt-and-cream footed Weizen-style cup transfer-printed "Old Germany / Deutschland" with the Imperial eagle; and a clear pressed-glass lidded Weizen boot-form with the "Original Bierzug" Brewer's dray-horse transfer, hinged 95% Zinn pewter lid stamped for New Glarus Brewing Co. "Drink Indigenous" (Wisconsin).


CONDITION

Excellent overall with no chips, cracks, or losses observed. Light surface crazing to the cream Hofbräuhaus glaze consistent with manufacture; pewter lid and hinge on the glass stein operate cleanly. Transfers and relief decoration are bright with no significant wear.
