Mission Oak Rocking Chair with Nailhead Leather Seat Pad
A sturdy Mission-style rocking chair built of solid oak with a high slatted back, flat paddle arms, and broad curved runners. The square-cut stiles and vertical slats follow the Arts & Crafts vocabulary popularized by Stickley and his contemporaries, while the warm honey finish lets the cathedral grain of the oak read clearly across the back panel and seat rails. A removable full-grain leather seat pad trimmed with antique copper nailheads softens the planked wood seat below.
Construction is mortise-and-tenon throughout, with double stretchers between the rockers for lateral stability and a generous seat depth suited to long evenings on a porch or by a fire. Comfortable, well-balanced, and ready for daily use.
CONDITION
Very Good. Light finish wear overall with minor scuffs to the rocker feet and some finish loss to the front apron below the seat. Frame is tight and the rockers track smoothly; leather pad is clean and supple.
