Amanda DePriest "Tanner" Oil Pastel Cat Portrait, Signed & Dated 2015

An intimate close-up portrait of a green-eyed tabby rendered in oil pastel against a deep black ground, signed lower right and titled, dated, and inscribed on the verso by the artist Amanda DePriest. The handling is dense and tactile — layered strokes build the silver-gray fur in directional sweeps, with warm pink tones bleeding through the ears, nose, and around the eye to give the animal real presence. The single visible eye is the focal point: a luminous green iris worked in glassy highlights against the dramatic chiaroscuro of the surrounding dark field.

Presented in a gilt wood frame with a beaded inner lip and lightly distressed gold leaf finish, glazed and wired for hanging. A finished, gallery-ready pet portrait with strong graphic impact at close range.

CONDITION

Good. No remarkable damage to the pastel surface. Frame shows minor wear consistent with age. Glazing has light dust accumulation behind the glass.
