Pair of Hollywood Regency Carved Plaster Table Lamps with Original Shades
A matched pair of dramatic Hollywood Regency table lamps, cast in plaster with a layered ivory and antiqued gold finish that highlights every rosette, scroll, and fluted flute of the elaborate body. The sculpted form rises from a footed base ringed with leaf and floret motifs, through a bulbous middle bursting with arabesque scrollwork and rosette medallions, into a fluted shoulder, a barley-twist collar, and an acanthus-leaf finial — the kind of full-throated decorative confidence that defined American living-room lamps in the late 1950s through the 1960s.
Both lamps retain their original drum shades in natural linen, trimmed top and bottom with an open ribbon-and-loop passementerie braid in chocolate and gold. The shades are in unusually good condition - true survivors — the trims, fabric, and proportions are all period-correct to the bases, and the matched pairing intact.
CONDITION
Very Good. Minor chips to the cast plaster throughout, noticeable only on critical inspection. Shades retain trim intact with light age.
