1970s Mod Chrome & Amber Plastic Panel Drum Pendant Chandelier
A 48-panel drum pendant in full 1970s mod form, alternating 24 smoked amber plastic blades with 24 brushed steel strips suspended in staggered tiers from a chrome-finished frame. When lit, the warm amber panels glow against the cool metallic verticals — a play of transparency and reflection that defined the era's experimental approach to domestic lighting.
The fixture hangs from a long chrome chain with an inline Leviton cord switch allowing convenient tabletop or wall-side control. Construction is unmarked but consistent with 1960s–70s production in the manner of American and Italian drum pendants of the period. The cylindrical geometry reads cleanly from any angle, lending itself equally to a dining area, entry hall, or stairwell.
CONDITION
Good and fully functional; tested and working. Some scuffing throughout the panels consistent with age and handling; two panels show visible scratches. Chrome and steel hardware remain sound and the frame is stable.
