Carolyn Bunch Original Watercolor & Ink — Organ Mountains Landscape, Signed
An original watercolor and pen-and-ink landscape by Carolyn Bunch, capturing the jagged spires of the Organ Mountains rising above the Mesilla Valley floor. Bunch's signature technique pairs loose, atmospheric watercolor washes — soft blue sky, blush and ochre desert tones, sage-green grasses — with crisp ink hatching that gives the granite peaks their distinctive serrated character. Signed "Carolyn Bunch" lower right in ink. Double-matted in cream over tan and presented behind glass in a slim gold-toned metal frame.
Bunch is a longtime Las Cruces-area artist whose ink-and-watercolor studies of the Organ Mountains, White Sands, and Doña Ana County landscapes have become regional favorites. The combination of disciplined draftsmanship and quick, confident color washes is characteristic of her plein air and studio work, and the Organs — with their cathedral spires visible from nearly every corner of the Mesilla Valley — are among her most recognizable subjects.
CONDITION
Very Good. Artwork presents cleanly with bright color and crisp ink linework. Glass shows a scratch along the left side. Frame and matting are clean and intact; not examined out of frame.
