Carved Round Wall Mirror with Acanthus Scroll, Cabochons & Beveled Glass, 51"
A large round wall mirror framed in a broad carved surround worked in continuous foliate relief. The design alternates scrolling acanthus leaves with oval cabochon-style bosses set within leafy collars, all bordered inside and out by twisted rope moldings. A slim gilt liner separates the carved frame from a beveled mirror plate at center. The frame carries a warm honey-amber tone consistent with cherry, fruitwood, or a stained light hardwood — the grain and color lean toward fruitwood.
The carving runs unbroken around the full circumference, giving the piece presence at scale while keeping a warm, traditional palette. It mounts directly to the wall and suits an entry, dressing area, or above a console where the relief work reads from across the room.
CONDITION
Good with no remarkable damage. Finish and carving are intact throughout; expect minor handling marks consistent with age. Beveled plate is clear and bright.
