Hand-Painted Nesting Storage Boxes, Set of 4 — Wild Rose & Strawberry Motif
Set of four graduated round lidded storage boxes, each hand-painted over a soft sage-cream ground with a central wild rose and strawberry bouquet on the lid, trailing leaf-and-vine borders wrapping the sides. Each box is velvet-lined in deep burgundy and fitted with a lift-off lid. The four nest by size, from the smallest at 5½" diameter up to the largest at 9".
Decorative tole-style painted work in the country-French manner, suited to a dresser top, vanity, or shelf grouping.
CONDITION
Good overall with age-appropriate wear. Finish shows scuffing, crazing, and paint loss; chipping is present along the inner rims (largely covered by the lids) and at one lid edge where wood has splintered through the paint. Tape residue on the tops of the lids. Velvet linings show light scratching and surface soiling.
