M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 Powered Desktop Studio Monitor Speakers, Pair
Pair of M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 active desktop monitors, built around a 4" woven-fiber woofer and a 1" ferrofluid-cooled silk-dome tweeter per cabinet, delivering a combined 20W RMS output (10W per channel). The left speaker is the active unit, housing the amplifier and all primary controls: a front-panel volume knob, Aux In and headphone jacks, rear TRS balanced and RCA line-level inputs, a Bass Boost switch, and a spring-clip output feeding signal to the passive right cabinet. Enclosures are matte-finish MDF with gloss-black baffles and rear-ported bass reflex tuning. Power is internally switchable between 115V and 220–240V via the rear AC Select toggle.
The AV 40 ran from approximately 2007 into the early 2010s as part of M-Audio's Studiophile line — positioned as an entry-level reference monitor aimed at home studios, podcast desks, and multimedia workstations. Frequency response spans 67Hz–20kHz, and the near-field two-way design delivers tighter low-end control than typical computer speakers. The front-panel headphone output with its own amplifier stage makes it a practical dual-use monitor. This pair is tested and fully functional. Includes the original AC power cord.
CONDITION
Good overall; tested and fully functional with excellent output. Both cabinets show light scuffing across the top surfaces and to some side areas — consistent with desk use — but no cracks, dents, or damage to drivers or controls. Functional condition is excellent.
