Wallace Sterling Silver Locomotive Christmas Ornament
A repoussé sterling silver Christmas ornament rendered as a side-profile steam locomotive, with raised detailing across the boiler, cab windows, spoked driving wheels, cowcatcher, and billowing smoke. The polished front catches light across the high-relief forms, while the reverse is left plain and satin-finished. Marked WALLACE STERLING with the maker's lion hallmark on the back, accompanied by its original red satin hanging ribbon and soft drawstring carry pouch.
Wallace Silversmiths produced sterling holiday ornaments as collectible annual issues, and the locomotive motif draws on the long tradition of the toy train beneath the Christmas tree. The substantial 18.2-gram weight and crisp die work distinguish it from lighter plated novelty ornaments. Includes the soft bag carry case.
CONDITION
