Nambé Studio Polished Aluminum Hourglass Desk Clock, 1996
A sculptural Nambé Studio desk clock cast in the foundry's signature polished aluminum alloy, the cinched, hourglass-waisted body flaring at both ends in a form that reads equally as timepiece and tabletop sculpture. A round quartz movement sits flush at the top, the silvered dial signed Nambé Studio with applied Arabic and stick markers behind a gold-tone bezel ring.
The underside carries the maker's mark, ©1996, and the model number 6150 with a designer signature. Nambé's New Mexico studio line paired the company's heavy, mirror-bright metalwork with functional accessories like this one, where the weight and reflective polish do the design work. The movement is quartz and runs on a single battery.
CONDITION
Good. Currently non-functional and requires a new battery; movement untested beyond that. The polished surface shows scattered scratches, cloudy oxidation spots, and dulling across the body — we'll leave the polishing to you.
