Rico Tomaso "Girl with Guitar" — Framed Mid-Century Lithograph
A framed lithograph on textured board after Rico Tomaso's Girl with Guitar, carrying the artist's printed signature at upper left. The image captures a dark-haired woman in a white mantilla and coral wrap, a guitar cradled at her lap, rendered in the loose, painterly brushwork that made Tomaso a fixture of mid-century magazine and calendar illustration. The verso is stamped VP1528. Tomaso: Girl with Guitar, 18 x 24, matching the publisher's catalog reference.
Presented in a gilt-and-black stepped molding, framed without glass so the printed surface reads directly. Rico Tomaso (1898–1985) trained under Harvey Dunn and built a long career illustrating for national publications before turning to gallery painting; decorative prints after his work circulated widely through the 1950s and 60s. This one suits a warm, layered interior where its coral and umber palette can carry a wall.
CONDITION
Good. No remarkable damage to the print. Scuffing to the frame consistent with age and handling.
