Patricia B. New Mexico Adobe Garden & Carved Door, Mixed Media Painting
A blooming courtyard garden pressed against a rounded adobe wall, its double set of carved wood doors weathered to a deep umber. Worked in mixed media on panel, the composition builds its flowers in loose, stippled dabs — yellows, reds, and blues massed in the foreground beds — while the impasto handling of the adobe and door lends the whole scene a sun-warmed density. The stone-paved threshold and open sky place this squarely in the visual language of northern New Mexico's walled home gardens.
The panel is signed "Patricia B" on the verso and housed in a beaded gilt frame. The impressionistic brushwork and regional subject — the terracotta wall, the paneled portal, the exuberant plantings — make it a natural fit for a Santa Fe or Mesilla Valley interior. Presented without glass, allowing the surface texture to read directly.
