Heavy-Duty Steel Mesh Three-Seat Patio Glider Bench, Diamond Mesh, c. 1970s–90s
A three-seat outdoor glider bench built to commercial standards, with a welded 1-inch tubular steel frame and expanded diamond-pattern steel mesh forming both the seat and the three-panel back. The looped arms and arched glider supports give the piece its industrial profile, while the pivot mechanism at the base delivers the gliding action these benches were made for. Finished in black paint now worn from years of outdoor service.
This is heavier gauge than typical residential-grade gliders of the era, with construction consistent with American commercial and institutional outdoor furniture — the kind of build meant for municipal, park, or courtyard use. The full-width three-seat configuration is less common than the standard two-seat glider, giving it a practical utility advantage. The expanded-mesh, powder-hardy design has long suited desert-climate patios across the Mesilla Valley and wider New Mexico market, where durability outranks fuss.
CONDITION
Good, with signs of outdoor exposure - minor oxidation, paint wear and some fading.
