Description

Lladró "Goya Lady" #4914 Porcelain Figurine, Spanish Mantilla

Hand-painted glazed porcelain figure of a standing young woman in Spanish regional costume, produced by Lladró in Valencia, Spain. She wears a cream skirt falling in pressed vertical folds to a double ruffle banded in pale celadon trim, a pink sash that wraps her waist and resolves into a full draped bow at the back, and a gray lace-edged mantilla cascading from a small pink flower at the crown down over both shoulders — the composition grounded on a sculpted floral oval base. The glaze palette moves through soft cream, blush, and dove gray, the muted romantic register Lladró's Valencia workshop perfected from the 1960s onward. The base carries the confirmed blue underglaze LLADRO / HAND MADE IN SPAIN factory mark with flower-stem logo and incised mark F-25 N.

Model #4914 "Goya Lady" was introduced in 1974 and remained in production through the 1990s, making it one of the firm's longer-running figurative studies at this scale. The subject — a young woman in traditional Spanish dress pausing mid-step, her mantilla caught as if by a light gust — captures the quietly theatrical quality that distinguished Lladró from contemporaries. Hand-finished in the firm's signature blended matte-to-gloss technique, the curled blond hair, composed downward gaze, and one hand settled at her hip give the piece the still, understated presence designed to anchor a cabinet or mantel. At 12½" tall, this is a display-scale piece with fully intact delicate details throughout.

CONDITION

Excellent. No chips, cracks, or losses noted; glaze surfaces are clean throughout. The delicate lace mantilla edge, the back bow, and the hem ruffle details are fully intact.
