Quoizel Milk Glass & Brass Table Lamp with Ruffled Melon Shade, 1978
A two-light table lamp in the traditional parlor form, built by Quoizel Inc. and molded-dated 1978. The white milk glass body — an urn-shaped font over a stepped pedestal — is banded in gilt and set on a gadrooned brass base with scalloped skirt. Above, a pierced brass gallery supports a ruffled-edge melon-ribbed milk glass shade, topped by a clear glass chimney over a frosted upper socket housing.
The design mimics a Victorian oil lamp, with the shade and chimney reading as period lighting while running on electricity. Top and bottom light independently or together — the lower font glows through the milk glass while the shade carries the primary lamp. The molded base cavity is marked Quoizel Inc. 1978 / C-265BA / 3 1/2 In.
CONDITION
Good and fully functional; tested and working, with both light circuits operating independently and together. Finish wear and loss to the brass, age-appropriate wear throughout, and wear to the gold trim on the glass.
