Nelco N-250-B-2 Zig-Zag Sewing Machine in Solid Wood Cabinet, Knee Control
A Nelco zig-zag sewing machine set into a fold-out solid wood cabinet, the head marked "Designed, Engineered and Guaranteed by Nelco Corp., New York, N.Y., U.S.A. — Made in Japan." The two-tone tan enamel head carries a top-mounted stitch-selector plate with decorative pattern options, front tension and reverse controls, and a chrome balance wheel. Twin base knobs are labeled DARN and SEW, and the model plate reads N-250-B-2, Serial No. 30445931. Power is supplied through a knee control unit (Cat. No. 701 Knee / 702 Foot, 1A–115V AC-DC).
The cabinet is built of solid wood with 1 3/4" tapered legs and a finished back, the hinged top folding out to nearly double the work surface. The head drops below the top when stored, with an oval access port at the rear. The machine is tested and fully functional; a demonstration stitch sample in navy fabric sits under the presser foot.
CONDITION
Function Good — tested and sewing. Cosmetic Fair. The head shows scratching, scuffing, paint splatter, and speckled finish loss to the base plate. The cabinet shows finish wear, stains, discoloration, and light scratching to the top; the front cabinet panel is absent. Sturdy throughout.
