Coleman Powermate 1850 Portable Generator — New, Never Fueled
The Coleman Powermate 1850 is a compact, suitcase-style portable generator built around a Briggs & Stratton 3.5 hp engine housed in a shock-absorbing molded enclosure. The green-and-black case damps vibration and running noise while the top carry handle and one-gallon fuel tank keep it a genuine one-person lift. The control panel offers two 120V AC receptacles with a reset button, a 12V 15A DC battery-charger outlet with automatic reset, and a rocker-style run/stop switch with a power-on indicator light. The opposite side houses the choke, run, and primer controls behind a hinged access cover.
Coleman sold this unit as the Powermate 1850 — the name referencing its 1850-watt surge capacity — but also marketed a near-identical platform as the Pulse 1850, the difference being the Pulse line's expanded accessory ecosystem (wheel kit, cover, spark arrestor) that could convert the base unit into a fully dolly-mounted camp or job-site generator. The original hang-tags still attached to this unit advertise both the Powermate and Pulse accessory lines, suggesting it was sold but never put into service. Coleman Powermate operated out of Kearney, Nebraska; the brand was later acquired by Generac. This unit is new, never fueled, never run, and retains its complete original documentation package.
CONDITION
New, never used, never fueled. The choke lever is loose. Minor scuffing to the molded case and a small paint mark to the lower housing near the maker sticker.
