Tiffin Franciscan "Madeira" Plum Footed Tumblers, Set of 8, c. 1970s
A complete set of eight footed tumblers in Tiffin Franciscan "Madeira", produced in the dramatic Plum colorway — a deep amethyst-to-burgundy that shifts with the light. The pattern's signature circular coin-dot band rings the base of each bowl, above the organic, free-form multi-footed base that gives Madeira its handmade, slightly molten look. Pressed glass, made by the Tiffin Glass Company of Tiffin, Ohio. Unmarked, consistent with Tiffin's standard production for this line.
Tiffin ran the Madeira line from the late 1960s through the mid-1970s, riding the Mid-Century tableware boom when heavyweight molded glass in saturated jewel tones was the fashion. Plum is the most visually striking of the Madeira colors and pulls the strongest collector interest; complete services of eight are increasingly hard to assemble without rim chips or sun-faded color. These read equally well as juice or water glasses, each holding 14 oz.
CONDITION
Excellent. No damage — no chips, cracks, or fading across all eight tumblers. Color remains rich and even throughout the set.
