Stenciled Enamelware Fruit Motif Serving Set, 10 Pieces — Hong Kong
A ten-piece enameled metal serving set decorated with the airbrushed fruit stencils typical of mid-century Hong Kong enamelware. The group pairs two large serving pieces — an oval platter bordered in apples, grapes, cherries, and strawberries around a central apple cluster, and a green-rimmed round tray with a bright pineapple, apple, pear, and grape arrangement — with six matching small dishes carrying the apple-and-berry pattern. All are worked in the sprayed, stenciled technique that gives the fruit its soft graded edges against the white ground.
The round tray reverse is maker marked "MADE IN HONGKONG", placing the set within the postwar Hong Kong enamelware trade that supplied durable, cheerful kitchen and table goods across the region and abroad. The dark brown rims and dense colorwork are consistent with production of this type. Pieces show honest kitchen use throughout.
CONDITION
Fair overall with age-appropriate wear consistent with use across all ten pieces. Scratches, dents, dings, and finish wear/loss are present; the green-rimmed tray shows rust and enamel loss at the top rim with darkened oxidation, and scattered surface flaking appears elsewhere. Colors remain bright and the set displays well as a group.
