ADC Sound Shaper Two Mk II 12-Band Stereo Graphic Equalizer
A two-channel 12-band graphic equalizer from Audio Dynamics Corporation's Professional Products Group, the Sound Shaper Two Mk II gives each stereo channel independent control across twelve frequency bands — 30Hz through 16kHz — with a ±12dB range per slider. The heavy black-anodized chassis carries chrome rack handles, dual LED output meters, independent left and right level controls, and a function switch bank covering tape monitoring, EQ bypass, meter routing, and record source selection. The rear panel provides stereo RCA jacks for tape monitor, tape out, input, and output, along with an unswitched AC convenience outlet for a downstream component.
ADC introduced the Sound Shaper line during the late-1970s home-audio EQ boom, when a graphic equalizer anchored the serious component rack. The SS-2 Mk II occupied the upper tier of that family — more bands per channel than entry-level competitors, LED metering in place of the older VU bar, and the pro-cosmetics rack profile that separated it from the consumer-shelf crowd. The design was substantial enough to earn a U.S. patent on its circuit topology. ADC operated out of Blauvelt, New York as part of the BSR group, with production in Taiwan. The unit powers on and is fully functional.
CONDITION
Good and fully functional. Tested, powers on, and operates as intended; no remarkable damage observed. Minor scuffs to the chassis and a light mark to the top surface consistent with shelf use.
