Pair of Pier 1 Hardwood Nightstands, Spanish Colonial Style, 1980s–90s
Matched pair of Pier 1 Imports nightstands in a Spanish Colonial idiom, each built with a single dovetailed drawer above a paneled cabinet door. Both drawer and door carry small iron ring pulls, with brass-tone hinges on the door and a flat overhanging top above square tapered legs joined by a stretcher base. The pieces are finished on all sides, meaning either can stand freely in a room without a back left unfinished.
Pier 1 sourced heavily from Southeast Asian and Indian workshops through the 1980s and 90s, producing tropical-hardwood casegoods with Mission-adjacent and Hacienda styling. Matched pairs with consistent patina are noticeably harder to source than singles; this set arrives intact, with both units sharing the same tone and wear.
CONDITION
Good with age-appropriate wear and signs of normal use throughout. Both units are somewhat wobbly, and there are minor imperfections to the tops. Drawers and cabinet doors operate; finish shows even patina across the pair.
