Cathedral-Form Steel Still Bank, Painted House Design
A small figural still bank in painted steel, formed as a peaked cathedral or house with a coin slot cut into the front gable and a pierced arched-window motif embossed on the face. The scalloped crown finials and gabled roofline give it the architectural silhouette common to early tin savings banks. Original red paint remains across the body with contrasting black on the roof, both surfaces heavily worn to bare metal.
The base carries a small central hole and scratched markings; the surface shows the paint loss, oxidation, and denting expected of a well-handled savings bank of its type.
- Steel, unmarked
- Painted red body with black roof
- Coin slot to front gable
- Campbell's Soup Can (4" H) Shown for Scale — Not Included
Condition: Good. Denting, scuffing, and rust/oxidation throughout with extensive paint loss to bare metal; age-appropriate wear consistent with use.
Size: 4 1/8" H × 2 7/8" W × 1 1/4" D
