Cristal d'Arques Cavalier Ruby Glass Service, 22 Pieces
A 22-piece service of French ruby glass stemware by Cristal d'Arques-Durand in the Cavalier pattern, mid-20th century. Each piece pairs a deep ruby bowl with a clear colorless stem and flat disc foot, the color running rich and even across the set. The base carries a molded "France" mark consistent with Cristal d'Arques production.
The lot spans three functional forms for a complete table service: eleven taller footed wine tumblers, eight smaller footed tumblers, and three low sherbet coupes. Founded in the Pas-de-Calais, Cristal d'Arques grew into one of the world's largest glassmakers, and the clean Cavalier profile reflects the modernist French table service popular from the 1960s through the 1980s. The bold ruby-and-clear contrast reads well massed on a table or shelved for display.
CONDITION
