Franciscan Desert Rose 5-Piece Serving Group — Pitcher, Gravy Boat, Relish Tray
A five-piece grouping in Franciscan Desert Rose, the hand-painted pink wild rose pattern first introduced in 1941 and among the most enduring American dinnerware designs of the mid-century. The lot includes a milk pitcher with the signature molded twig handle, a footed gravy boat on its attached underplate, an oval relish tray, and a matched pair of pedestal egg cups. Each piece carries the classic embossed border and hand-decorated blossoms in soft rose with green leaf trim.
Backstamps in the reference photos show the mix of production periods typical of a working household set: one piece marked Interpace, Made in U.S.A., 73-69, Ovensafe/Colorfast from the 1960s–70s California era, and another impressed Franciscan / Made in England, reflecting the pattern's later English production. The egg cups are a less common form in the pattern, making this a useful grouping for anyone filling gaps in an existing service.
