Handwoven Wool Zapotec-Style Diamond & Cross Weaving with Tassels
A handwoven wool textile in a warm natural taupe ground, worked with a bold black-and-ivory concentric diamond at center and paired chevrons spanning the field. Small stepped cross motifs — black with an ivory center square — punctuate the corners and the middle of the piece, a recurring device across the regional and Mexican flatweave traditions. Corded tassels finish all four corners. The weave is a tight, flat tapestry construction in 100% wool, unmarked, of Mexican origin.
The scale and finished edges suit it as a table runner, wall hanging, or accent textile. The graphic palette and geometric layout read cleanly against both rustic and modern interiors, and the hand-worked motifs give each cross and chevron slight, appealing irregularity.
CONDITION
Very Good. No remarkable damage. Weave is tight and even; tassels are intact.
