Barley Twist Two-Tier Mahogany Plant Stand / Pedestal
A tall three-column plant stand with hand-turned barley twist supports rising from splayed feet to a molded circular top with a raised gallery rim. The central column carries a ring-turned baluster profile while the outer two spiral, giving the piece a lively rhythm from any angle. A round lower shelf sits mid-height, tying the legs together and offering a second display surface.
Built from solid wood with a warm reddish-brown finish, the stand suits a fern, a sculpture, or a large vase where its height can carry the eye upward. The barley twist form draws on English Jacobean revival cabinetry, a look that stayed popular through the early-to-mid twentieth century.
CONDITION
Fair structurally and cosmetically Excellent. The finish is clean and glossy with strong color throughout; the frame is wobbly and would benefit from re-gluing at the joints before loading with weight.
