Empire-Style Marble-Top Pedestal Plant Stand, Triple Ebonized Columns
An Empire-style pedestal stand with a circular 3/4" marble top in mottled gray and green, seated on a mahogany-finished frieze. Three 1 1/2" ebonized columns rise from a concave-sided tripartite plinth, each column terminating in polished brass collars top and bottom that read against the black lacquer. The base combines a warm mahogany-toned platform with a black molded edge, echoing the two-tone contrast of the columns and stone.
The form draws on French Empire vocabulary — columnar supports, gilt-metal accents, and a stone display surface — scaled for a sculpture, plant, or vase in an entry or corner. The piece is unmarked.
CONDITION
Very Good and sturdy. Wood and lacquer surfaces present cleanly with brass collars intact; marble top sound.
