Neoclassical-Style Fluted Mahogany Barrel-Back Lounge Chairs, Pair
A pair of barrel-back lounge chairs blending neoclassical detailing with a lighter mid-century posture. The exposed mahogany frames feature sweeping down-curved arm rails that meet turned disc finials at the crest, squared block joints inlaid with dark line stringing, and fluted, tapered saber legs./p>
Each chair carries a button-tufted upholstered back and a loose down-style seat cushion over a fixed platform, upholstered in a chartreuse twill weave with self-welt trim. Removable covers on the seat cushions allow for cleaning and eventual replacement. The pairing suits a reading corner, a small salon grouping, or flanking positions in an entry — a set built to be seen from every angle, with the curved arms and fluted legs reading cleanly in the round.
CONDITION
Good with age-appropriate wear throughout. Frames are sound with minor surface marks; the twill upholstery shows some soiling and a faint stain near one seat button. Cushion foam is crunchy and due for replacement.
