Rogaska "Criss Cross" Lead Crystal Lidded Box, Cube Form
A lidded crystal box in the Criss Cross pattern by Rogaska, the Slovenian house producing high-lead crystal since 1927. The square cube form takes octagonally chamfered corners and is cut on every surface — lid included — with deeply incised crossing diagonals that build bold diamond and triangular facets. There are no polished reserves anywhere on the piece; the entire body throws light, giving it strong presence as a desk or vanity accessory.
Substantial in hand at 4 lbs across a roughly 4-1/8" cube, the density reflects the high lead content that separates Rogaska from lighter pressed glass. The chamfered form holds the flat-fitting lid in tight alignment, a mark of careful cutting tolerances. The bottom is polished. The piece is unmarked — consistent with Rogaska production that carried a paper label since removed.
CONDITION
Excellent. No chips, cracks, or cloudiness. Cutting remains crisp throughout and the lid seats cleanly.
