Mid-Century Sculpted Walnut Barrel-Back Lounge Chairs, Pair

A matched pair of American mid-century lounge chairs built on a sculpted walnut frame, distinguished by curved arms that sweep from the crest rail down to the tapered front legs in one continuous line. The barrel-back silhouette wraps the sitter, with a loose box cushion over an upholstered seat deck. Rear legs splay outward in a subtle saber curve, giving the chairs a light, poised stance despite their generous width. Upholstery is a green geometric jacquard with tumbling-block and diamond motifs picked out in teal, olive, and gold.

The exposed walnut shows the hand-shaped quality typical of better American furniture of the era — the arm-to-leg transitions are carved rather than joined at hard angles, and the wood carries a warm satin finish that plays against the woven fabric.
