Description

Jadeite Satin Glass Boudoir Lamp with Prism Collar, 1940s–50s

A petite electrified boudoir lamp in pale jade-green satin glass, the molded font and matching shade both carrying a relief grape-and-vine motif against a soft satin ground. The reservoir body rests on a clear pressed-glass foot, while a clear pressed-glass luster collar suspends a ring of faceted spear-drop and octagonal crystal prisms. Chrome socket hardware and a pierced brass gallery collar carry the scalloped-rim shade above. Circa 1940s–1950s American production; the jade coloring is satin glass, not uranium glass.

Complete matching shade-and-base sets like this one are less common than mismatched survivors, and the coordinating molded decoration across both pieces reads as a deliberate pair.

CONDITION

Good and fully functional. Tested and working; accommodates a standard bulb. Age-appropriate wear throughout, including light corrosion to the chrome and gallery hardware. One prism is absent from the collar; the remaining spear-drop and octagonal prisms are intact.
