1950 Hopalong Cassidy Red Steel Lunchbox w/ Original Thermos – William Boyd
Saddle up for a piece of true American nostalgia with this original 1950 Hopalong Cassidy steel lunchbox and matching thermos, produced at the height of Western television’s golden age. Maker-marked ©William Boyd 1950 and manufactured by Aladdin Industries, this set captures the iconic cowboy hero Hopalong Cassidy—portrayed by Boyd—with bold lithographed artwork across a vibrant red metal body.
The front and rear panels feature classic Western imagery, including Hopalong wielding a revolver in rugged terrain and a “This Chuck Wagon Belongs To” scene on the reverse. The included original thermos—yellow with red lid—displays matching graphics of Hopalong with his trusty horse, Topper. With its steel construction and saturated colors, this set remains a defining relic of postwar childhoods.
A staple of 1950s lunch counters and schoolyards, it’s a must-have for Western collectors and fans of early licensed pop culture.
Condition
Good overall vintage condition. Exhibits authentic patina and wear consistent with age and use. Surface shows scratches, chips, dents, oxidation, and scuffing throughout.
