‘El Dorado’ Patinated Hammered Serpent Front Copper Chests

Pair of handcrafted El Dorado solid Ponderosa pine chests, celebrated for their artisanal hammered copper craftsmanship. Each features a hand-hammered copper top and curved “serpent-front” drawer panels, richly patinated in verdigris for a deeply textured, one-of-a-kind finish.

The warm golden grain of Ponderosa pine contrasts beautifully with the cool green oxidation of the copper. Oversized forged-iron clavos secure the copper bands along the top edges, lending bold visual presence and structural integrity. Two drawers on each chest carry matching copper panels framed in wrought iron and fitted with traditional drop-pull handles.

The copper surfaces are a true living finish—changing subtly with use, developing new shades, marks, and tonal variations over time. In rustic and Hacienda interiors, this evolving patina is prized as part of the furniture’s history and authenticity. A ring from a mug, a hint of green from natural oxidation, or a gentle darkening from touch becomes part of each chest’s unique story.
