Rising Sky Pottery Batter Bowl & Pie Dish, Signed Las Cruces
Pair of signed studio pottery vessels by Rising Sky Artworks, the Las Cruces, New Mexico studio of Dorothy and Richard Rising, established in 1986. Included is a wheel-thrown batter bowl with pouring spout and strap handle (3 1/2" H x 7 1/2" W x 9 1/2" D), glazed in soft desert green. Complementing it is a shallow fluted pie dish (2" H x 10 1/2" diameter), finished in warm earthen tones with a ruffled edge. Each piece is incised “Rising / Las Cruces” on the underside.
Rising Sky Pottery is admired for high-fired stoneware and porcelain pieces that merge utility with artistry, their forms and glazes reflecting the desert palette of southern New Mexico. These handcrafted vessels, both functional and decorative, embody the studio’s commitment to simple elegance rooted in place.
Condition
Good overall with no damage. Light surface wear consistent with handmade studio pottery.
