The HLS RM designation — High Line Speed, Rocky Mountain taper — identifies this as the stiffer, faster-loading variant of the HLS line, tuned for the bigger water and longer presentations common on western trout rivers. At 9 feet and 5 weight, it sits squarely in the most versatile trout configuration: capable on dry flies, effective with nymphs, and authoritative enough for small streamers. Blank markings read Orvis HLS RM — 9' — 3 3/8 oz. — 5 wt., with Silver Label stamped on the butt section. The cigar-style cork grip, anodized uplocking reel seat, and blue thread-wrapped guides are all correct and intact for the model.

The rod travels in its original Orvis green nylon zippered case, bearing the embroidered creel logo and "Sporting Tradition Since 1856" label — Made in U.S.A. CONDITION

Rod is in great condition with clean wraps, intact guides, and crisp factory markings. The nylon carry case shows signs of use — light surface scuffing and minor staining to the green fabric — but the zipper and aluminum end cap function properly.
