Henredon-Style Campaign Oak Square Storage Cabinet Side Table
A square campaign-style storage cabinet in solid oak, built as a low side table or end table with a pair of plank-front doors opening to a single interior compartment. The case is finished on all four sides, allowing placement away from a wall, and rides on a recessed plinth base. Brass corner protectors at all eight top and bottom corners — flat L-plates secured with iron rivets — give the piece its campaign-furniture vocabulary, paired with small brass ring pulls at the door centers and dark iron butt hinges.
The construction reads as 1970s American campaign revival: heavy oak case, vertical-board door fronts mimicking plank-and-batten joinery, distressed surface with intentional wormhole peppering across the grain. The interior storage bay is open and unfitted, suitable for media, blankets, or display storage behind closed doors. No maker's label located; an inventory marking "#70820 P06-X10" appears on the underside.
CONDITION
Good. Scratches and finish wear visible throughout, with fading and lighter areas on the top surface and lifted veneer/finish along one top edge. Brass hardware shows uniform patina. Doors operate on original hinges; interior is clean.
