1995 USPS Legends of Hollywood Marilyn Monroe 32¢ Stamp Sheet
Complete pane of twenty 32¢ commemorative stamps issued by the United States Postal Service in 1995 as the inaugural release in the Legends of Hollywood series. The stamp art reproduces a portrait of Marilyn Monroe against a deep blue ground, paired with her facsimile signature and the "USA 32" denomination. The wide right-hand selvage carries a large bust portrait, the series banner, the Monroe signature in silver, and biographical text referencing Some Like It Hot, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Bus Stop, and The Seven Year Itch.
Marginal markings include the USPS copyright line acknowledging the Estate of Marilyn Monroe and plate number S1121 in the lower corners. The Legends of Hollywood series ran from 1995 through 2009, with the Monroe issue remaining the most widely recognized release of the program.
