Lladró "Japanese Girl Arranging Flowers" Porcelain Figurine #4840
A kneeling Japanese woman in a flowing white kimono arranges cherry blossoms in a blue porcelain vase atop a low lacquered table. The figure is finished in Lladró's signature soft, pastel glaze palette — pale grey hair, blush-pink obi, and delicately stenciled floral medallions across the kimono. Hand-applied porcelain blossoms in pink add dimensional detail to the central vignette, with a small loose yellow blossom resting on the tabletop completing the composition. The piece sits on a celadon-toned plinth with a stepped, gadrooned edge.
The underside carries two blue "LLADRÓ — HAND MADE IN SPAIN" backstamps along with impressed sculptor's marks and the number "11." Model #4840 is part of Lladró's Japanese figural series produced at the Tavernes Blanques workshops in Valencia, Spain — part of the studio's long-running exploration of cultures and quiet domestic moments rendered in their distinctive lustrous porcelain.
CONDITION
Fair. One finger is absent from the figure's hand, and the top of a flowering stem is absent. Glaze and applied florals are otherwise bright and intact with no chips or hairlines to the major surfaces.
