Apollo 11 Venezuela Souvenir Sheet & 1981 Cuba Space Anniversary First Day Covers, Lot of 4
A four-piece grouping of space-themed philatelic material centered on early manned spaceflight. The standout is the 1969 Republica de Venezuela "Vuelo Apolo 11" imperforate souvenir sheet, denominated Bs. 1,00 with an embedded 0,90 aéreo stamp depicting the three Apollo 11 astronauts above a lunar landing scene, the command module floating at right. The sheet carries the Ministerio de Hacienda, Direccion de la Renta Interna imprint and is serially numbered 063169.
The remaining three pieces are Cuban First Day Covers from the "XX Aniversario del Primer Hombre en el Espacio Cosmico" series, each cancelled 12 Abril 1981, Primer Dia, marking the twentieth anniversary of Gagarin's flight. The covers carry Cuba/CCCP correos issues in denominations of 1, 2, 3, 5, 13, 30, and 50 — portraits of cosmonauts, Intercosmos crews, and spaceflight pioneers — over the printed ICEGRAF cachet showing a cosmonaut in a recovery capsule. A tidy set bridging the American lunar program and the Soviet–Cuban space narrative.
CONDITION
Very Good overall. The Venezuela souvenir sheet is clean and bright with strong color. The three Cuban covers show light handling and minor toning to the envelope flaps; cancellations are crisp and the stamps remain fresh. Envelope versos show faint show-through and scattered specks.
